I'm a physician assistant and work at a psychiatric hospital providing medical care to the residents.

I'm the stepmom of a 9-year-old girl and bio mom to a toddling redhead! Our family is "nontraditional" in that my hubby and I have explicitly chosen not to be legally married. In every other sense, we're married... just don't feel we need the government's endorsement. It works for us.
Any sensitive entries are "friends only," although I post my scrapbook layouts and photos/videos of the kids publicly. I tend to closely guard my friends list, so if I don't friend you right away, don't be offended... I'm not a collector of LJ friends just for the sake of a long friends list. I'm pretty free with the stuff most people are interested in anyway, so don't feel like you're missing a whole lot! :)
